Brandstorm, L'Oréal’s renowned business, and innovation competition have attracted over 80,000 participants in its 24 years of existence.
For the 2016 edition, Brandstorm and the La Roche-Posay brand invited students to work on a case study focused on attracting a new consumer market of 15 to 25-year-olds. For the first time, the concept to be developed by the students is based entirely on digital technology.
In this year’s edition, the 14th in Malaysia, Team GBU, from Taylor’s University was crowned National Champions after competing with over 60 teams from across 5 partner campuses. The team comprising of Amanda Woo, Omar Khan, and Tushaani Naidu, presented an exciting and fun concept on how La Roche-Posay is able to attract and retain the new consumer group.
Team RVS from Sunway University, consisting of Ong Kar Mun, Ang Ching-Wen and How Wei Xin took home the second place with an innovative device concept. Team Megiddo from University Putra Malaysia emerged as 2nd Runner Up. Muhammad Iqbal, Norsyafiqah Othman and Wong Jo Ann, from the team shared a concept that stayed close to the lifestyle of 15 to 25-year-old target group.
Brandstorm 2016 continues to provide students with an enriching experience with the Path to Win platform where students were able to access quality content on Digital Marketing, Consumer Journey and the La Roche-Posay brand.
Brandstorm also represents a unique platform for young talents to explore the ever-growing beauty industry and provides budding students with an opportunity to join L'Oréal Malaysia's Ignite Internship program or the Graduate Trainee - Young Entrepreneur Program.
Team GBU will be representing Malaysia at the International Finals in Paris, France, on 30th June 2016. They will compete against 57 other countries for the International Finals Championship.
